Bulls Knock Off Florida A&M For First Win

The USF Bulls (1-2) defeated Florida A&M (1-2) 38-17 on Saturday night at Raymond James Stadium.

True freshman Timmy McClain got the start at quarterback for USF, and played well in leading the Bulls to a victory. He finished the game 12-for-23 with 163 yards and a touchdown. Xavier Weaver was his favorite target, pulling in five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. The USF run game played well, led by Brian Battie who ran for 110 yards, and Jaren Mangham who ran in three touchdowns.

With the game tied 3-3 midway through the first quarter, USF scored the next 21 points of the game to take control and lead 24-3 at halftime. Florida A&M tried to get back into this game with touchdowns early in the third and fourth quarter, but each score was answered with a touchdown by USF as they earned the 38-17 win.

The USF Bulls will now head to Provo, Utah for a matchup against BYU next Saturday night. Kickoff from BYU is scheduled for 10:15 PM - you can hear the game, beginning with pregame coverage at 9:15 PM on AM 1250 WHNZ.
