The USF (9-21, 2-15) men's basketball team led wire-to-wire and stunned Memphis (18-12, 9-8) on Thursday night in Memphis.
The Bulls came into this game on an eight-game losing streak, but began the game with a three-pointer and built a 45-23 lead at halftime thanks to a 19-6 run to lead the half. Memphis turned the ball over 10 times in the first frame to give USF a lead that they would not turn loose of. The closest Memphis was able to get in the second half was 19 as the Bulls came up with a stunning win.
Payton Banks and Malik Martin led the way for USF, scoring 19 points each - Banks added seven rebounds. Memphis was led by 17 points from Kyvon Davenport in the losing effort. USF now looks to finish the regular season strong when they head home to battle SMU on Senior Day on Sunday. Tipoff from the Sun Dome is set for 2 PM on Sunday afternoon.
