The USF Bulls (8-13, 1-7) picked up their first conference win of the season, 80-75 over Tulane on Thursday night in New Orleans.
Stephan Jiggets scored 23 points to lead USF, while Payton Banks added a career double with 14 points and a career high 10 rebounds. USF led by 23 midway through the second half, but Tulane would close in down the stretch of the second half, thanks in part to missed free throws by USF. The Green Way pulled within three with ten seconds left. However, USF made the final play of the game to clinch it when Jiggets blocked a three point attempt from Colin Slater than ran out the clock.
The Bulls return to action on Sunday when they travel to Houston to take on the Cougars. Tipoff from Houston is set for 3 PM.
