The USF Bulls (2-2) fell at Indiana (2-2) 70-53 on Sunday night.
The Bulls played well in the first half, taking a 34-33 lead into the break. However Indiana was able to pull away in the second half, thanks in part to a stifling defense that limited USF to 19 points on 6 of 25 shooting after the break. The Hoosiers went on a 9-1 run midway through the second half that turned a tie game into a 54-44 Indiana lead, and from there the home team never looked back.
Robert Johnson led all scorers with 21 points for Indiana, while Juwan Morgan had 15 points (including 13 points in the second half) and 10 rebounds. The Bulls were led by 18 points from Peyton Banks, 15 of which came in the first half.
The Bulls return to Tampa to play host to Howard on Wednesday. Tipoff from the Sun Dome is set for 7 PM on Wednesday night.
