The USF Bulls (7-22, 1-17) ended the regular season with a 72-60 loss to Temple (16-15, 7-11).
The Owls led USF 35-26 at halftime and were in control of this game throughout. A large part of their success came to a strong defensive performance, as Temple forced a season best 16 steals, 19 turnovers and socred 20 points off of turnovers.
Geno Thrope led all scorers with 21 points, as well as grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. It was Thorpe's seventh game with 20 or more points this season. Luis Santos added 14 points with six rebounds while shooting six-of-eight from the floor. Temple was led by 17 points with five assists from Daniel Dingle. Obi Enechionyia scored 14 points with seven rebounds thanks in part to 4-of-8 shooting from behind the three point arc. Overall Templ went 11-for-25 from the three point line while USF converted only five three-point attempts.
USF wraps up the season on a five game losing streak and having lost seventeen of eighteen in conference play. They now advance to the American Athletic Conference Tournament as the 11th seed and will play on Thursday night.
