Stanford Hangs On To Hand Florida State Their Fourth Straight Loss

The Florida State Seminoles (3-4, 0-4 ACC) fell to the Stanford Cardinal (3-4, 2-2) 20-13 late Saturday night on the West Coast. With the loss, the Seminoles have now lost four in a row.

The Seminoles had the chance to score and potentially tie the game on the game's final play - an untimed down - but Stanford tackled Gavin Sawchuck just short of the goal line and held onto the win.

Seminoles quarterback Tommy Castellanos went 14-of-28 for 286 yards before being knocked out of the game on the final drive on what was called a targeting foul against Mitch Leighber for Stanford. Castellanos also ran for 33 yards a touchdown in the game. Backup quarterback Kevin Sperry came into try to win the game and went 4-for-7 for 69 yards but ultimately could not lead the Seminoles into the end zone.

The Seminoles will look to get back on track when they host Wake Forest on November 1st.
