The 25th ranked FSU Seminoles (3-0, 0-3 ACC) fell to Pittsburgh (4-2, 2-1) 34-31 on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee. For the Seminoles, it was their third straight loss.
Pitt quarterback Mason Heintschel went 21-for-29 with 321 yards to lead the way for Pitt - he hit Desmond Reid for 155 yards and two touchdowns. For the Seminoles, Tommy Castellanos went 16-for-23 with 245 yards passing with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Micahi Dancy was his favorite target, grabbing 133 yards with two touchdowns.
The Seminoles built a 21-14 lead over Pittsburgh at halftime and led 24-21 after three quarters. Pitt got a field goal to tie and another to take the lead before Ja'Kyrian Turner's 3-yard touchdown run gave Pitt a 34-24 lead with 2:28 to go. FSU got a touchdown back to pull within 34-31 with 1:45 to go, but that would be as close as they would get as Pittsburgh held on for the win.
The Seminoles now travel to California for their next game when they play Stanford next Saturday night. Kickoff from the West Coast is scheduled for 10:30 PM on October 18th.
