The Florida State Seminoles (10-3) defeated Oklahoma (6-7) 35-32 on Thursday evening at the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando.
Oklahoma led 17-11 at halftime, but Florida State scored the only touchdown of the third quarter to take an 18-17 lead. A back and forth fourth quarter saw OU take a 25-18 lead, before the Seminoles got two touchdowns to take a 35-32 lead. With 3:37 to go in the game Jovantae Barnes scored to tie the game 32-32.
The Seminoles had a chance to win the game on a field goal, thanks to a remarkable catch from Johnny Wilson that set up the game winning field goal. Ryan Fitzgerald hit a 32-yard field goal with under a minute to go to give the Seminoles a 35-32 lead. Oklahoma was unable to advance past their own 27 yard line in the final 55 seconds as Florida State earned their tenth win of the season.
Jordan Travis went 27-for-38 with 418 yards passing, throwing two touchdown and one interception. He added another fifty yards of rushing, while Treshaun Ward led the Seminoles ground game with 81 yards and two touchdowns. Johnny Wilson had a monster game, grabbing 202 yards in the air - including a remarkable catch that set up the game winning field goal. Travis was named the MVP of the Cheez It Bowl for his efforts.
The Seminoles now head into the offseason and will look to build on their ten win campaign that ended with a Cheez-It Bowl Championship.
