The Clemson Tigers (5-3, 4-2) defeated the Florida State Seminoles (3-5, 2-3) 30-20 on Saturday afternoon in Clemson.
The Seminoles had upset on the mind, trailing Clemson 17-13 at halftime, and leading 20-17 after Jermaine Johnson II ran in a fumble recovery six yards for a touchdown with 7:39 to go in the game. The Tigers survived thanks to Will Shipley running in a 21-yard touchdown - his second of the day, with 2:53 to go to give Clemson a 24-20 lead. The Seminoles were unable to capitalize on the ensuing possession, going 3 and out, before Clemson took the ball back and added a score as time expired to clinch a 30-20 win.
Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis went 14-for-22 with 176 yards and two touchdowns passing. Lawrance Taofili made the most of his one catch, pulling in a 68-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Those 68 yards would lead all Seminoles receivers.
The Seminoles will return to action when they host North Carolina Sate on November 6th.
