The Jacksonville State Gamecocks (1-1) stunned the Florida State Seminoles (0-2) with a 20-17 upset win at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday night.
Florida State led 17-7 heading into the fourth quarter, but Jacksonville State clawed back into it. With 4:45 to go Jacksonville State quarterback Zerrick Cooper hit Ahmad Edwards for a 23-yard touchdown pass. Then, trailing by three in the game's final moment, Cooper hit Damond Philyaw-Johnson for an insane 59-yard touchdown play that propelled the Gamecocks to the win.
The Seminoles return to action on Saturday September 18th when they meet Wake Forest. Kickoff from Wake Forest is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
