The Florida State Seminoles (19-10, 8-9) fell to 18th ranked Clemson (22-7, 11-6) on Wednesday evening in Clemson.
The Seminoles led early in this one, building a 24-16 first half lead before Clemson went on a 21-8 run to take a 35-32 lead at halftime. Florida State fought hard in the second half, though, buidling a 45-42 lead midway through the frame before Clemson went on another run to take control. From there, Florida was never able to pull, closer than 64-61 with 2:58 to go in the game, and the Tigers were able to secure the victory.
Phil Cofer led the way in the losing effort, scoring 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds for Florida State. Marcquise Reed scored 22 points while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out five assists to set the pace for Clemson.
The Seminoles return to action on Saturday when they wrap up the regular season against Boston College. Tipoff from Tallahassee is set for 2 PM on Saturday.
