Seminoles Outlast Louisville 80-76 on Saturday

The Florida State Seminoles (17-6, 6-5) held on to survive the Louisville Cardinals (16-7, 6-4) on Saturday afternoon in Kentucky.

The Seminoles and Cardinals went back and forth throughout this game, and Florida State led 39-38 at halftime.  In the second half all tied at 57, Florida State reeled off six unanswered points and led by eight a couple of different times late.  However, Louisville would not go away, and pulled within 78-76 in the game's final thirty seconds.  Florida State missed an opportunity to put the game away when Terrance Mann missed two free throws late, but he rebounded with a key block that enabled C.J. Walker to hit a dunk with one second remaining to clinch the win for the Seminoles.

Phil Cofer led the scoring for the Seminoles with 16 points, while Mann added 11 points of his own.  Derg Adel led Louisville with 17 points in the losing effort.

Florida State now prepares for one of their toughest challenges yet as they host the second ranked team in the country, the Louisville Cardinals, on Wednesday.  Tipoff from Tallahassee is 7 PM on Wednesday night.
