The Florida State Seminoles (16-6, 5-5) fell to Wake Forest (9-13, 2-8) 76-72 on Wednesday night in Winston-Salem, North Caorlina.
Florida State built a 39-33 halftime lead in this contest, and but Wake Forest used a key three right before halftime as momentum throughout the second half. The Demon Deacons led for much of the second half, but Florida State fought to the end. After Florida State took a 72-71 lead on a Phil Cofer inside shot with 1:06 to go, they were unable to hang on. Wake Forest took the lead on free throws, while Cofer missed his free throws with 29.5 seconds to go, and Wake Forest would hang on to snap a seven game losing skid.
Cofer led the Seminoles with 23 points in the losing effort, while Bryant Crawford led Wake Forest with 19 points and seven assists. Florida State returns to action on Saturday when the visit Louisville - tipoff between the Semionles and Cardinal is scheduled for 4 PM.
