The Duke Blue Devils (23-7, 11-6) avenged a 16-point loss at Florida State (23-7, 11-6) last month by knocking off the Seminoles 75-70 on Tuesday night in Durham, North Carolina.
Duke built a 34-23 lead at halftime and led for most of this contest. FSU pulled within 71-63 with 2:23 to go before Jayson Tatum hit a jumper to push the Blue Devils lead back to 10. From there Duke got a key rebound on a Jonathan Isaac missed three and kept the ball out of Florida State's possession until there was 50 seconds remaining - at which point the Blue Devils had no trouble hanging on to the win.
The Seminoles were led by 19 points from Dwayne Bacon, while Xavier Rathan-Mayes added fifteen points. Frank Jackson was the key for Duke throughout, scoring a season-best 22 points and making several critical shots throughout the contest. Jayson Tatum also added 15 points with nine rebounds, while Amile Jefferson had a double-double with fourteen points and eleven rebounds in the winning cause for Duke.
Florida State now wraps up the 2016-2017 regular season when they host top rival Miami on Saturday. Tipoff between the Seminoles and #25 Hurricanes is scheduled for 4 PM on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee.
