The Notre Dame Irish (19-7, 8-5) beat #14 Florida State (21-5, 9-4) 84-72 on Saturday evening in South Bend, Indiana, to snap the Semionles three-game winning streak.
The Seminoles struggled early in the game and fell behind eleven points in the first half. They had no answer for Bonzie Colson, who scored 20 points in the second half en route to a career high 33 point performance. A personal 7-0 run for Colson in the second half pushed Notre Dame's lead to 17 points and the Irish had little trouble holding on for the win.
In addition to the career high thirty-three points from Colson, he grabbed thirteen rebounds to maintain his status as the ACC's leading rebounder. He also surpassed a thousand points for his career at Notre Dame. Matt Farrell and Steve Vasturia both added 15 points for the Irish. Florida State was led by 15 points by Terance Mann - Dwayne Bacon and Trent Forrest each scored a dozen.
The Seminoles are off for a week until they travel to Pittsburgh next Saturday - tipoff against the Panthers is set for 4 PM on February 18th.
