The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today were awarded safety Mike Edwards off waivers from the Tennessee Titans.
Edwards (5-10, 205) originally entered the league as a third-round selection (No. 99 overall) by the Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He appeared in 58 games for Tampa Bay between the 2019-2022 seasons, making 23 starts before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023 and Buffalo Bills in 2024. In his career, he has appeared in 78 games, totaling 233 tackles (nine for loss), 26 passes defensed, eight interceptions (three returned for touchdowns), five fumble recoveries, four quarterback hits, 3.0 sacks and one forced fumble. Edwards is a two-time Super Bowl Champion, having won with Tampa Bay in 2020 and Kansas City in 2023. The Cincinnati native played collegiately at the University of Kentucky (2015-18), playing in 51 games and recording 318 tackles, 23 passes defensed and 10 interceptions.
In addition, the Buccaneers waived cornerback Keenan Isaac.
