The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) beat the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) 33-16 on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneer offense got off to a hot start under the sun as Mayfield connected with Mike Evans on a two-yard TD in the corner of the end zone to give the Bucs an early 7-0 lead. With that touchdown, Mike Evans became the all-time leading points scorer in Buccaneer history, surpassing kicker Martin Gramatica. Bakey Mayfield and company weren't finished; Mayfield connected with Trey Palmer on a 15-yard TD pass, extending the Bucs lead to 14 over Philadelphia.
With less than a minute coming off of the clock in the second quarter, Baker Mayfield punched it in from a yard out on fourth down, giving the Bucs a 21-0 lead over the Eagles. Chase McLaughlin also knocked down a field goal from 21 yards out, extending Tampa Bay's lead, 24-0 over Philadelphia. The Eagles did eventually score late in the second quarter as Jalen Hurts connected with Parris Campbell on a one-yard touchdown pass on 4th down, narrowing the Bucs lead 24-7 with under two minutes left in the half.
Saquon Barkley got the second half off to a rip-roaring start with a big run to start the third quarter, setting up the Eagle's offense in the red zone. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles called upon the tush push; Hurts punched it in from a yard out, and the Bucs lead now 24-14 with 12:28 left in the 3rd quarter. Bucky Irving was able to punch it in from a yard out to tack on six more points. However, the PAT was returned for safety by the Eagles. The Bucs led 30-16 with 6:49 left in the 3rd quarter.
The Buccaneers relied on Chase McLaughlin to make a 52-yard field goal, giving the Bucs a 33-16 lead, which ended up being the final score.
