The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) defeated the New Orleans Saints (1-1) 20-10 on Sunday afternoon in New Orleans.
New Orleans got a first quarter field goal for the only points in the first half. After the Buccaneers tied the game 3-3 in the third, tempers flared early in the fourth quarter between the teams. Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore got into an altercation that led both of them to be ejected from the game.
From there Tampa Bay took control of the game. They used five second-half turnovers, including two interceptions from Jamel Dean and a Mike Edwards pick six, to change the tone of the game. They went on to start the season 2-0 and snap a six game losing streak in the regular season against the Saints - it was Tampa Bay's first win in the rivalry since 2018.
The Buccaneers now prepare to face Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the first home game of the season on Sunday September 25th. Kickoff is scheduled for 4;25 PM - you can hear the game on 97.9 WXTB-FM - The Mighty 98 Rock.
