VIA TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS COMMUNICATIONS -

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed wide receiver Julio Jones

Jones (6-3, 220), a seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro selection, is the NFL’s all-time leader in receiving yards per game (91.9) and ranks third in receptions per game (6.1) among players with at least 100 games played. In addition, he ranks 17th in NFL history in career receiving yards (13,330) and 25th in career receptions (879).

Over 145 regular season games for the Atlanta Falcons (2011-20) and Tennessee Titans (2021), including 144 starts, Jones has recorded 879 receptions for 13,330 receiving yards and 61 receiving touchdowns, averaging 15.2 yards per catch. Among players currently on NFL rosters, Jones ranks first in receptions, first in receiving yards, third in yards per reception and fourth in receiving touchdowns.

Jones’ 59 career 100-yard receiving performances are tied with Marvin Harrison for the third-most since the merger, trailing only Jerry Rice (76) and Randy Moss (64). He has recorded seven seasons with 1,000-or-more receiving yards and three seasons with 100-plus receptions. Jones eclipsed the 12,000 receiving yards mark in 125 career games, surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice (142 games) as the fastest player to that milestone in NFL history.

The veteran wide receiver has also played in and started nine career playoff games, including Super Bowl LI, tallying 67 receptions for 896 yards (13.4 avg.) and six touchdowns. He owns two of the top 20 playoff receiving performances in NFL history, accumulating 182 yards vs. San Francisco (1/20/13 – 18th most in NFL history) and 180 yards vs. Green Bay (1/22/17 – tied for 19th in NFL history).

Jones earned seven Pro Bowl selections through his first nine NFL seasons, while earning a spot on the Associated Press All-Pro team in consecutive seasons (2015-16). Jones led the NFL in both receptions (136) and receiving yards (1,871) in his first All-Pro season and led the league in receiving yards again in 2018 (1,677 yards). His 2015 yardage total stands as the third-highest in a single season in NFL history, while his 2015 receptions mark ranks tied for fourth in a single season. Jones recorded 80-plus receptions and 1,400-or-more receiving yards in each season from 2014-18, marking the longest-such streak of seasons in NFL history.

Jones entered the league as the No. 6 overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. He was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2010s All-Decade team, alongside current Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. The University of Alabama product is a native of Foley, Alabama.
