Buccaneers Hold On To 25-23 Win Over Giants On Monday Night Football

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) defeated the New York Giants (1-7) 25-23 on Monday Night Football.

The Giants set the pace for much of the first half - after Ryan Succop hit a 37-yard field goal, the Giants answered with a touchdown from Daniel Jones to Dion Lewis to take a 7-3 lead. In the second quarter Wayne Gallman scored a 2-yard touchdown to make it 14-3 with 1:46 to go in the half, before the Buccaneers got a 40-yard field goal to make it 14-6 at halftime.

The second play of the second half would prove to be pivotal, as Daniel Jones was picked off by Carlton Davis. Though the Buccaneers would only get a field goal on the ensuing possession, it would no doubt help the Buccaneers gain momentum. They used that momentum to take a 15-14 lead when Brady hit Rob Gronkowski with 6:00 to go in the third quarter, before New York answered with a field goal late in the third to make it 17-15.

In the fourth the Buccaneers were able to take the lead back on a beautiful Mike Evans touchdown with 9:02 to go to take a 22-17 lead. Later in the game the Buccaneers were driving before the Giants forced Tampa Bay into a field goal with 3:41 to go that would prove to be critical.

As the game came down the stretch the Giants were able to score as Golden Tate grabbed a 19-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Jones with 0:28 to go to make it 25-23. The Giants would go for two - but the attempt would fail after it was ruled their was no pass interference by Tampa Bay on the play - and the Buccaneers would win 25-23.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to be in prime time once again in week nine as they are scheduled to host the Saints on November 8th - kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 PM.
