JPP Goes Under The Knife

One key piece of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive may not be fully ready for training camp when it begins.

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who signed a new deal with the Buccaneers this offseason, underwent an surgical procedure on his knee Friday, posting video on his Snapchat. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times posted the video on his Twitter feed.

Stroud reports the 31-year-old will need three to four weeks to recover from the procedure. Bucs training camp is scheduled to open July 21.

Pierre-Paul signed a two-year deal worth $25 million to remain in Tampa Bay after recording 8.5 sacks in ten games in 2019 after recovering from a neck injury sustained in an automobile accident last offseason.
