Various NFL teams have contributed to the different storylines as the league heads into week three of its regular season. From an all-pro cornerback requesting a trade to veteran quarterbacks suffering injuries that will change the landscape of their respective divisions. But those storylines have been equaled or surpassed by the news earlier this week that the New York Giants are benching Eli Manning & starting rookie Daniel Jones. And while that is news for Giants' fans,Tampa Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles wants his players focus on the Giants as a whole & not just who is playing quarterback.
Bowles talked to the media on Thursday & stressed veteran or rookie, his defense needs to be prepared to stop the Giants offense.
As in their first two games, the Buccaneers will look to slow down an all-pro offensive weapon, who accounts for a large portion of his team's offense. Week one it was 49ers tight end George Kittle. In week two it was Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey. And on Sunday the Buccaneers' defense will look to slow down Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who as Bowles pointed, is the main focus of any defense but is still capable of making big plays.
