Lightning Beat Flyers Again For 10th Straight Win

The Tampa Bay Lightning (28-13-3) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (22-14-8) 5-1 on Tuesday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Monday night. The Lightning swept the Flyers in a back-to-back in Philadelphia, having also won 7-2 on Saturday night, and now have won ten straight games.

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist and has now had a multipoint game in his last nine straight games. Brayden Point also had a goal on the power play, but was injured on the play when Cam York fell on his right leg. He was helped off the ice and did not return.

Pontus Holmberg got the scoring started with a goal just 1:10 into this game, which would make the score 1-0. That would be the score into the second period when Jake Guentzel scored to make it 2-0 and Point's goal made it 3-0 before he left with the injury.

After Philadelphia got one back from Christian Dvorak, Brandon Hagel scored on the power play to make it 4-1 with :31 to go in the second period. Nikita Kucerhov's empty net goal in the third made it 5-1, which would be the final score.

Jonas Johansson got the start in net and saved 20 of the 21 shots he face for the Lightning. Dan Vladar went 21-of-25 in net for the Flyers.

The Lightning remain on the road but now travel to Pittsburgh where they will play the Penguins in the second game of a back-to-back on Tuesday night. Puck drop from Pittsburgh is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
