The Tampa Bay Lightning (20-13-2) defeated the St. Louis Blues (14-16-8) 4-1 on Monday night in Tampa. The Lightning now take a break for the Christmas holiday having won each of their last two games.
The Lightning got off to a hot start thanks to first period goals from Pontus Holmberg and Darren Raddysh. Raddysh finished the game with a goal and two assists. After St. Louis got on the board early in the second period, Anthony Cirelli answered less then two minutes later to make it 3-1. Then in the third Oliver Bjorkstrand scored on the power play to make it 4-1, which would prove to be the final score.
Andrei Vasilevskiy got the start in net for Tampa Bay and went 23-of-24 to pick up the win. Jordan Binnington went 13-of-17 in net for St. Louis in the losing effort.
The Lightning are now off through Christmas and will next be in action when they go on the road to play the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Panthers is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday night in Sunrise.
