The Ottawa Senators (3-2-0) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (3-1-0) 5-4 on Saturday afternoon in Ottawa.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, the Lightning rallied with goals from Nikita Kucherov and Nicholas Paul to tie the game 2-2 in the second period. The teams traded the next two goals - with Jake Guentzel picking up his first in a Lightning sweater to tie the game 3-3.

Ottawa then scored the next two goals to take a 5-3 lead early in the third period. Mitchell Chaffee scored to make it 5-4, but that was as close as the Lightning would get. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 23-of-28 in net in the losing effort.
