The Tampa Bay Lightning (32-23-5) defeated the New Jersey Devils (29-25-4) 4-1 on Sunday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey. The win gives Tampa Bay a sweep of a back-to-back with the Islanders and Devils.
Nikita Kucherov led the way with four points (a goal and three assists), becoming the first player in the NHL to surpass the 100-point mark as he reached 102 points. In addition to Kucherov's goal (which was an empty netter late), the Lightning got goals from Victor Hedman, Brayden Point and Brandon Hagel in the win.
The Lightning now head to Philadelphia in the final game of their three-game road trip on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Flyers is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
