The Florida Panthers (36-15-4) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (30-21-5) 9-2 on Saturday evening at Amalie Arena. The loss snaps Tampa Bay's winning streak at three games.
The Lightning actually scored first in this game, taking a 1-0 lead twenty-four seconds into the game with a goal from Brandon Hagel. Florida then erupted for nine straight goals, and led 9-1 early in the second period. Brayden Point scored the second goal of the game for Tampa Bay at the 10:51 mark in the third.
The Lightning will look to bounce back when they host the Ottawa Senators on Monday night. Puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7:00 PM Monday evening.
