The Tampa Bay Lightning (20-17-5) defeated the Los Angeles Kings (20-10-7) 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night at Amalie Arena. It was the 500th win for Lightning head coach Jon Cooper.
The Kings took a 2-0 lead with two goals in the second period. After Tyler Motte got the Lightning on the board at the 12:37 mark of the third period, Brandon Hagel tied the game 2-2 with 4:21 to go in regulation. It was Hagel's second goal in three games.
In overtime, Nick Perbix hit a backhand shot at the 2:03 mark that lifted Tampa Bay to the win. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 20-for-22 in net to pick up the win.
The Lightning remain continue a four-game homestand when they play host to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Devils is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday at Amalie Arena.
