The Tampa Bay Lightning (18-15-5) defeated the Montreal Canadiens (15-16-5) 4-3 on Sunday night at Amalie Arena. The win snapped a two game skid for Tampa Bay, who wrap up the 2023 calendar year on a winning note.
The Bolts got four straight goals to take the lead in this one. Trailing 2-0 in the second, Brayden Point and Austin Watson both scored to make it 2-2 heading into the third period. In the third Tampa Bay got goals from Calvin de Haan and Nikita Kucherov to build a 4-2 en route to the 4-3 victory.
The Lightning now head go on a three game road trip that begins on Tuesday in Winnipeg. Puck drop on Tuesday is scheduled for 8:00 PM between the Lightning and Winnipeg Jets from Manitoba, Canada.
