The Florida Panthers (20-12-2) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (17-14-5) 3-2 on Wednesday night at Amalie Arena. The loss ended Tampa Bay's winning streak at three games.
The Panthers got a goal from Aaron Ekblad (his first of the season) in the first and a goal from San Reinhart in the second to build a 2-0 lead.
Nikita Kucherov got the Bolts on the board early in the third period when he scored his 300th career NHL goal. Michael Eyssimont also scored for the Lightning to pull Tampa Bay within 3-2, which would be the final score as Florida went on to win the game in regulation.
Andrei Vasilveskiy went 28-for-31 in net for Tampa Bay. Sergei Bobrovsky went 27-for-29 in net for Florida to pick up the win.
The Lightning remain at home for a back-to-back this weekend against the Rangers and Canadiens. It gets started on Saturday when the Lightning and New York Rangers face off - puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday night.
