The Pittsburgh Penguins (11-10-1) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (10-9-5) 4-2 on Thursday evening at Amalie Arena.
The Lightning built a 2-0 lead in the first period, but Pittsburgh answered with two goals in the second to tie the game. Jeff Carter scored what would be the game-winning goal 2:49 into the third period, before goalie Tristan Jarry scored an empty-netter to make it a 4-2 final score.
Andrei Vasilevskiy saved 25 of the 28 shots he faced in the losing effort.
The Lightning now head to Dallas to play the Stars on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM.
