The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 on Thursday night in Toronto to avoid elimination. Toronto still leads the series 3-2, with the series shifting back to Amalie Arena for Game 6 on Saturday night.
The Maple Leafs scored first, before Anthony Cirelli tied it moments later. Michael Eyssimont scored in the second period and Nick Paul in the third to build a 3-1 lead. After Auston Matthews scored at the 16:26 mark of the third period to pull within 3-1, Alex Killorn hit the empty netter with five seconds to go in the game that clinched the victory.
Andrei Vasilveskiy made 28 saves of the 30 shots he faced to earn the victory.
The Lightning will once again look to stave off elimination when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7 PM on Saturday night.
