The Tampa Bay Lightning (43-26-6) shut out the Carolina Hurricanes (47-17-9) 4-0 on Tuesday evening.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made all 31 saves he faced to secure the shutout win.
After Steven Stamkos got the scoring started in the second, Brayden Point scored at the 14:23 mark of the second to give the Bolts a 2-0 lead. Point scored his second goal of the night in the third period to make it 3-0 before assisting on Alex Killorn's goal at the 15:39 mark. All told Point finished the game with three points.
The Lightning now return home for the next two games beginning against the Washington Capitals on Thursday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Capitals is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday night at Amalie Arena.
