The New Jersey Devils (45-18-7) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (42-23-) 5-2 on Sunday night at Amalie Arena.
Nikita Kucherov and Alex Killorn scored to give the Lightning a 2-0 lead early in the second period. For Kucherov, his goal gave him 100 points on the season.
The Devils finished the second period with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead, then added two more in the third to win the game 5-2.
Andrei Vasilevskiy saved 34 of the 38 shots he faced in the loss.
The Lightning now go on the road for the next four games, beginning with the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Canadiens is set for 7:00 PM in Montreal on Tuesday.
