The Tampa Bay Lightning (20-9-1) defeated the Montreal Canadiens (14-15-2) 5-1 on Saturday night in Montreal.
The Lightning got goals from Brandon Hagel and Nick Paul in the first period to take a early 2-0 lead. Anthony Cirelli got on the board, before Brandon Hagel had his second of the game, in the second period to give Tampa Bay a 4-0 lead.
Nick Suzuki scored for Montreal just sixteen seconds into the third period, but Nikita Kucherov answered with a late goal as Tampa Bay left Montreal with their fifth consecutive win.
The Lightning now head to Toronto to play the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. Puck drop on Tuesday in Toronto is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
