The Winnipeg Jets (25-22-10) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (37-13-6) 7-4 on Tuesday night in Winnipeg.
After Winnipeg built a 2-0 lead in the first period, Tampa Bay answered with a goal from Ryan McDonagh. Paul Stastny scored next for the Jets to make it 3-1, but the Lightning got goals from Alex Killorn and Victor Hedman to go into the first intermission tied 3-3.
The second period was a scoreless one, before Winnipeg took control in the third period. Ross Colton got the final goal for the Lightning, but Winnipeg secured two empty net goals to clinch the victory.
Andrei Vasilevskiy took the loss in net after going 26-for-31 for Tampa Bay.
The Lightning will look to bounce back when they go to Calgary to meet the Flames on Thursday night. Puck drop from Calgary is set for 9 PM - pregame coverage begins at 8:30 PM on News Radio WFLA.
