Lightning Knock Off Kings For Fourth Straight Win

The Tampa Bay Lightning (27-9-5) defeated the Los Angeles Kings (20-15-5) 6-4 on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.

After Victor Hedman scored to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead in the first, the second period saw some fireworks. The Kings scored twice to take a 2-1 lead, before Nikita Kucherov and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored to give the Lightning a 3-2 lead. Arthur Kaliyev scored before the frame ended to tie the game 3-3.

In the third period the Lightning were able to take control, thanks to goals from Victor Hedman and Mathieu Joseph. Steven Stamkos added an empty net goal before Phillip Danault got one in with fifty-five seconds to go in the game to make the final score Lightning 6, Kings 4.

Andrei Vasilevskiy picked up the win in net, making 32 saves on 36 shots against. Cal Petersen went 19-for-24 in net in the losing effort for the Kings.

The Lightning stay on the West Coast for the next two games, which begins in Anaheim on Friday night. The Lightning will try to win their fifth straight when they play the Anaheim Ducks on Friday - puck drop is scheduled for 10:00 PM, with pregame coverage beginning at 9:30 PM on News Radio WFLA.
