Lightning Rout Blue Jackets

The Tampa Bay Lightning (22-8-5) defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets (15-15-1) 7-2 on Tuesday night in Columbus. The win snaps a three game losing streak for the Lightning.

Ondrej Palat scored twice, while Brayden Point had a goal and two assists, to set the pace for the Lightning. The Bolts also got goals from Corey Perry, Pat Maroon, Pierre -Edouard Bellemare, and Alex Killorn.

The Lightning built a 3-0 lead in the first period. After each team scored twice in the second period, the Lightning pulled away with two unanswered goals in the third to secure the rout.

Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in net, converting 20 saves on 22 shots against. Joonas Korpisalo took the loss in net for Columbus, converting 29 saves on 36 shots.

The Lightning now return home for the next two games which begins against the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. Puck drop from Amalie Arena Thursday between the Lightning and Flames is scheduled for 7:00 PM - pregame coverage begins at 6:00 PM on News Radio WFLA.
