Lightning Rout Flyers

The Tampa Bay Lightning (15-5-4) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (8-10-4) 7-1 on Sunday night. The Bolts have now swept the season series from Philadelphia, and have defeated the Flyers the last ten times they have met. The win also gives the Lightning points in their last four games, and wins in their last three.

The Lightning built a 2-0 first period lead with goals from Ryan McDonagh and Corey Perry. In the second period, the Bolts turned this game into a rout with goals from Taylor Raddysh, Boris Katchouk and Mathiu Joseph to make it 5-0.

After Pat Maroon scored in the third to make it 6-0, the Flyers got their lone goal on the power play from Cam Atkinson. Corey Perry scored his second, this time on the power play, to push the margin to 7-1.

Brian Elliott got the win in net for Tampa Bay, converting 38 saves on 39 shots.

The Lightning continue their road trip and head north of the border for the next three games. They will head to Montreal to face the Canadians on Tuesday night. Puck drop Tuesday is scheduled for 7:00 PM - pregame coverage begins at 6:30 PM on News Radio WFLA.
