The Tampa Bay Lightning (5-3-2) fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs (6-4-1) 2-1 on Thursday night in Toronto.
Pat Maroon scored at the 13:16 mark of the first period, and for much of the game it appeared as though that goal would be enough to lift Tampa Bay to the win. However, John Tavares scored with :42 seconds to go in the third period to tie the game, then would win on the power play in overtime when William Nylander was able to get the game ending goal.
Andrei Vasilevsky went 32-for-34 in net for the Lightning, and though he kept the Lightning in this game for much of the game took the loss.
The Lightning continue their road trip into Canada when they head to Ottawa to take on the Senators on Saturday afternoon. Puck drop Saturday is scheduled for 2:00 PM - pregame coverage begins at 1:30 PM on News Radio WFLA.
