The Tampa Bay Lightning took game one of the best of seven playoff series with the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina.
After a scoreless first period, the Lightning broke through in the second when Brayden Point scored on a power play. Jake Bean tied the game for Carolina with a power play goal earlyl in the third period, but Barclay Goodrow came through with the game winner at the 12:39 mark of the third period.
Andrei Vasilevskiy went 37-for-38 in net for the Lightning to pick up the win. Alex Nedeljkovic went 28-for-30 in net in the losing effort for Carolina.
The two teams now look ahead to game two on Tuesday night. Puck drop from the PNC Arena will be 7:30 PM on Tuesday night - pregame coverage begins at 6:30 PM on News Radio WFLA.
