The Tampa Bay Lightning (28-12-2) were blown out by the Nashville Predators (24-19-1) 7-2 on Tuesday night in Nashville.
The Predators scored early and often, building a 3-0 lead in the first period. After Brayden Point scored early in the second period, Nashville scored two more goals to make it 5-1. Yanni Gourde got the second goal for the Lightning in the third period before Nashville added two more goals late to take complete control.
Curtis McElhinney took the loss in net, converting fifteen saves while allowing all seven goals against.
The Lightning now return home for the next six games which will begin against the Panthers on Thursday night. Puck drop from Amalie Arena on Thursday is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:00 PM on News Radio WFLA.
