The Tampa Bay Lightning (31-15-5) knocked off the Anaheim Ducks (20-26-5) 4-3 on Friday night in Anaheim.
The Lightning and Ducks went back and forth in the first period, After Ondrej Palat scored at the 4:07 mark, Rickard Rakell answered at the 8:42 mark to tie the game 1-1. Erik Cernak then scored for Tampa Bay at the 14:43 mark, before Michael Del Zotto scored at the 18:29 mark of the first to tie the game 2-2.
Anthony Cirelli gave the Lightning a lead with 1:02 remaining the second period, before Nikita Kucherov scored at the 10:56 mark of the third period that would prove to be the game winner. Troy Terry scored with 13 seconds to go to pull the Ducks within 4-3, but that would be as close as Anaheim could get.
Andrei Vasilevskiy picked up his 150th career win for the Lightning, as well as his 26th of the season, while stopping 23-of-26 shots in net for Tampa Bay. John Gibson took the loss for Anaheim, going 18-for-22 in net in the loss.
The Lightning wrap up their California trip on Saturday night in San Jose when they battle the Sharks. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:30 PM - pregame coverage begins at 10 PM on News Radio WFLA.
