Lightning End 2019 With 4th Consecutive Win

The Tampa Bay Lightning (21-13-4) rallied to a comeback win over the Buffalo Sabres (17-17-7) 6-4 on Tuesday night in Buffalo.

The Sabres scored first and looked like they would take control of this game early. After building a 2-0 lead in the second period, Ondrej Palat scored on the power play to pull within 2-1. From there the Sabres scored two more goals to take a commanding 4-1 lead with 9:56 to go in the second period.

The Lightning were able to put together an answer - second period goals from Alex Killorn and Tyler Johnson to pull within 4-3 before the end of the second period. In the third period Kevin Shattenkirk scored at the 6:20 mark to tie the game 4-4. It was less than two minutes before Alex Killorn scored his second goal to give the Lightning a 5-4 lead. Anthony Cirelli added an empty netter with less than three seconds to go to clinch a come-from-behind, 6-4 win for Tampa Bay.

Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in net, converting 24 saves on 28 shots against. Linus Ullmark went 21-for-26 in net in the losing effort for the Sabres. The Lightning now travel to Montreal to battle the Canadiens on Thursday night - puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM and you can hear the game on News Radio WFLA.
