Namestnikov Scores Twice To Lead Ottawa Past Lightning Saturday

Ondrej Palat and Luke Witoski scored, and Curis McElhinney made 30 saves as the Lightning (2-2-1) fell to the Ottawa Senators (1-3-0) 4-2 on Saturday evening in Ottawa. The Lightning have now lost three of their past four games.

Colin White scored with a wrist shot short side from the right circle to give the Senators a 1-0 lead at 13:44 of the second period Bobby Ryan.had the secondary assist on the goal, his 300th in the NHL. But, Ondrej Palat chipped in a cross-crease pass from Tyler Johnson to tie it 1-1 at 14:21. Jean Gabriel-Pageau banked the puck off McElhinney's skate into the net from below the goal line to give Ottawa a 2-1 lead with 27 seconds remaining in the second, before Luke Witkowski tied it 2-2 at 8:56 of the third period with a snap shot from the left circle that beat Anderson five-hole.

From there Vlad Namestnikov was the difference - he scored the game winner after Nikita Kucherov's go-ahead goal was disallowed, then added an empty netter to secure the 4-2 win. Curtis McElhinney went 30-for-33 in net for the Bolts to take the loss, while Craig Anderson got the win going 19-for-21 in net for Ottawa. The Lightning now travel to Montreal where they will battle the Canadiens on Tuesday - puck drop is set for 7 PM, and pregame coverage begins at 6:30 PM on News Radio WFLA.
