Lightning Close Preseason With 1-0 Shootout Loss To Panthers

The Tampa Bay Lightning closed out the preseason with a 1-0 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday night at Amalie Arena.

Andrei Vasilevskiy was sharp in net for the Bolts, converting 28 saves, but Vincent Trocheck scored the only goal of the entire game in the shootout to secure a 1-0 win for the Panthers as both teams wrapped up the preseason. Cedric Paquette and Tyler Johnson both left the game with injuries - coach Jon Cooper said afterwards Johnson left more as a precaution, while Paquette will be checked out further before providing any updates.

The Lightning now prepare for their regular season debut against the Florida Panthers on Thursday October 3rd at Amalie Arena. Puck drop Thursday night is scheduled for 7 PM - remember you can hear the game, and every game all season long, with pregame coverage beginning an hour prior, on News Radio WFLA.
