Fantastic news from the Twitterverse on Tuesday, as legendary college basketball voice and friend of WDAE, Dick Vitale, announced that his cancer was in remission.
The 82-year-old Vitale, who lives in Lakewood Ranch, announced in October 2021 that he was diagnosed with lymphoma, requiring steroid and chemotherapy treatments.
All of us here at WDAE send our best to Dickie V, who is also recovering from vocal cord surgery, and is under doctor's orders to not speak for a few weeks. However, his 'voice' still can be heard through Twitter, where he shared the great news of his being cancer-free.
As did others, who shared their congratulations on Twitter as well, including his alma mater.
