Newly Acquired Tampa Bay Rays Reliever DJ Johnson Wants to Be Here

Tampa Bay Rays relief pitcher DJ Johnson joins Ian and Jay on Tuesday to talk about his long trip around the baseball world to finally arrive with the Rays, who signed him out of college in 2010! The first question was about his amazing beard, and DJ talks about what he does to keep it maintained. DJ talks about what it means to be reunited with the Rays, who initially signed him for $1,000! DJ also worked in a lumberyard during off-seasons to help him make ends meet. He decided that he would keep playing after the Rays initially let him go, and he kept at it, going from independent leagues to the Nippon league and back here to the minors, then the bigs! All that and MORE!
