Buccaneers Upset Lions

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) defeated the Detroit Lions (1-1) 20-16 on Sunday afternoon in Detroit. The win came in a rematch of the game that ended Tampa Bay's season in the playoffs last year.

Baker Mayfield threw for a touchdown and ran for another to lead the way, finishing the game 12-for-19 with 185 yards passing. His game-winning touchdown run came with thirty-four seconds to go in the third quarter.

The story of the fourth quarter was the defense, which successfully stopped the Lions four times in the final quarter, including twice on fourth down.

The Buccaneers return home and will next be in action against the Denver Broncos next weekend. Kickoff on September 25 is scheduled for 1:00 PM - you can hear the game on 97.9 WXTB-FM - The Mighty 98 Rock.
