Tampa Bay Lightning Sign D Nick Perbix To Two-Year Contract Extension

(via Tampa Bay Lightning Communications) - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenseman Nick Perbix to a two-year contract extension worth an AAV of $1.125 million, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. 

Perbix, 24, made his NHL debut with the Lightning October 18 versus Philadelphia and has skated in 29 games total with Tampa Bay this season, notching three goals and eight points. Perbix recorded his first NHL point (an assist) in his fifth career game October 26 at Anaheim and scored his first NHL goal in his ninth game November 5 versus Buffalo. 

Perbix currently ranks tied for second among Lightning defensemen for goals and fourth for scoring. He ranks tied for second among rookie NHL defensemen for goals and 10th for scoring. 

Perbix was a sixth-round selection (169th overall) by the Lightning in the 2017 NHL Draft. The Elk River, Minn. native signed a one-year, entry-level contract with Tampa Bay prior to the 2022-23 season.
